Creative Mechanical Engineer

Propeller Design is seeking a Creative Mechanical Engineer with strong product development skills who values both functionality and aesthetics when designing solutions that create engaging user experiences. As part of our team, you will collaborate with a diverse range of clients, working on everything from hands-on, soon-to-market projects to start-up explorations and highly conceptual work for global companies.

The position is temporary for 10 months (May 2026 – February 2027), with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

- Driving design projects from digital concept to final product using parametric modeling.

- Ensuring designs meet key requirements across functionality, aesthetics, regulatory standards, manufacturability, ergonomics, and sustainability.

- Facilitating design reviews with internal teams and client stakeholders.

- Building visual and functional prototypes through hands-on methods and rapid prototyping.

- Managing design projects and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements

- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field

- Several years of experience in consumer product development

- Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes

- Experience with DFM/DFA and supplier communication

- Experience in creating visual and functional prototypes

- Excellent surfacing and modeling skills in SolidWorks (Creo or Catia is also valuable)

- Ability to interpret and translate design input, including 2D/3D sketches and physical mockups

- Strong communication and presentation skills, using tools such as KeyShot and Adobe CC

- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
